Jason Hammel tossed five-and-two-thirds innings of one-run ball to help guide the Cubs past the Brewers, 4-1, at Miller Park. Hammel moved to 6-and-5 with the win and Hector Rondon closed it out for his 15th save. Starlin Castro plated a pair of runs and Anthony Rizzo clubbed a solo home run for Chicago, which has won three in-a-row and four of five. Taylor Jungmann racked up seven strikeouts in five-and-two-thirds for Milwaukee, but suffered the loss after giving up two earned runs. Ryan Braun went deep for the Brewers' lone run in their eighth defeat in 10 games.

The Cubs also acquired pitchers Dan Haren and Tommy Hunter on Friday. Haren was (7-7) with Miami while Hunter was (2-2) in the bullpen with Baltimore.
