Kris Bryant and Kyle Schwarber plated insurance runs in the ninth for the Cubs in the opener of the four-game set. Rafael Soriano earned his first win in relief. Hector Rondon secured his 14th save. Jonathan Lucroy doubled in run and scored on Ryan Braun's single in the third for Milwaukee, which has dropped five of six. Will Smith took the loss in relief of Jimmy Nelson, who fired seven innings of two-hit, shutout ball.
