Eury Perez hit a go-ahead two-run single in the eighth inning to push the Braves past the Cubs, 4-2 at Turner Field. Nick Markakis added an RBI-double to help the Braves open the second half of the season with a win. Arodys Vizcaino earned the win in relief and Jim Johnson picked up the save for Atlanta, which is 24-and-17 at home. Jorge Soler plated both runs for the Cubs on a single in the third inning. Pedro Strop took the loss in relief, giving up the game-clinching single to Perez.
