John Deere Classic Champion Jordan Speith
For the 2nd time in 3 years, Jordan Speith is you winner at the John Deere Classic in Silvis.
The current Masters and U.S. Open champion defeated Tom Gillis with a par on the 2nd playoff hole. Gills, who was looking for his 1st PGA win, knocked his 2nd shot in the water on the 18th hole which enabled Speith to win his 4th tournament of the season.
Speith shot a final round 3 under par 68 and trailed by as much as 4 shots on the back 9 today.
Gillis recorded a 7 under par 64 in his final 18 holes.
Speith takes home a check worth $846,000. Afterwards, he along with other PGA players jumped on a John Deere charter plane as they flew to Scotland for this week's British Open Golf Championship being held at St. Andrews Links.
