Carlos Rodon combined with three relievers on a three-hitter as the White Sox shut out the Cubs 1-0 in the first of a three-game series at Wrigley Field. Rodon walked six and struck out six while allowing just two hits over six innings of work. Jake Petricka picked up the win in relief and David Robertson nailed it down in the ninth for his 19th save. J.B. Shuck plated the only run of the game with a pinch-hit sac-fly in the eighth inning as the Sox won for the eighth time in 10 games. Kyle Hendricks fanned four over seven innings of five-hit ball for the Cubs. Hector Rondon took the loss.
