Jeff Samardzija pitched a four-hitter as the White Sox shut out the Blue Jays 2-0 at U.S. Cellular Field. Samardzija walked one and struck out five to improve to 6-and-4 with his first complete game of the year. Adam Eaton scored Chicago's first run on a passed ball by catcher Russell Martin in the sixth inning. Former Blue Jay Melky Cabrera added a solo homer that same inning as the Sox took three-of-four in the series. R.A. Dickey struck out six over seven innings of four-hit, two-run ball to fall to 3-and-10 with the loss. Devon Travis had two of Toronto's four hits.
