Congratulations goes out to Aubrey Headon of Rochelle who has been named as 1 of the 60 U.S. track and field athletes and 4 guides for visually-impaired athletes to compete at the 2015 Parapan American Games in Toronto this August.
The U.S. Paralympics, a division of the U.S. Olympic Committee, made the announcement as Aubrey is 1 of 20 women to be part of Team USA. Headon is also 1 of 2 athletes, male or female, representing Illinois at the event.
The multi-sport games will be held August 10th through the 14th. Aubrey will be part of the largest international competition before the World Championships in October.
The 5th edition of the Games will feature a total of 145 track and field events. The Parapan American Games will have over 16 hundred athletes from 28 countries competing in 15 sports.
Aubrey will be a freshman this year at Rochelle Township High School.
