White Sox lose their 6th straight game

Jung Ho Kang clubbed a two-run homer during a three-run first inning as the Pirates held on for a 3-2 win over the White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field. Pittsburgh's scoreless streak reached 35 innings before Chicago scored twice in the sixth inning. Andrew McCutchen plated a run and scored for the Bucs, who have won seven straight including the first three of this four-game home-and-home series. Jeff Locke struck out eight over six innings of two-run ball as he improved his mark to 4-and-3. Mark Melancon pitched a flawless ninth for his 22nd save. Melky Cabrera and Avisail Garcia drove in runs for the Sox, who have lost six in-a-row. John Danks slipped to 3-and-7 after yielding three runs in seven frames.

The White Sox return to action tonight against Pittsburgh in the final game of the series. The game can be heard on Newstalk 1060.
