Starlin Castro hit a walk-off single to push the Cubs past the Reds, 4-3, at Wrigley Field. Castro also plated a run in the fourth inning in the victory. Miguel Montero belted a two-run homer in the second while Kris Bryant went 3-for-4 and scored three times. Kyle Hendricks fanned seven in five frames of one-run ball before the game was delayed for nearly three hours in the fifth inning due to rain. Jason Motte improved to 3-and-1 in relief as Chicago picked up its fifth win in seven games. Eugenio Suarez hit a two-run home run while Joey Votto went 2-for-4 with a solo shot in defeat. Tony Cingrani took the loss for the Reds, who had won five of six coming in.
