Local Golf
6 players have been chosen to represent Fairways Golf Course in Rochelle in the 93rd Men's Lincoln Highway Golf Tournament.
The event will take place July 18th and 19th at Kishwaukee Country Club in DeKalb.
The captain for Fairways Golf Course will be Josh Johnson. The team will also include George Weber, Jared Johnson, David Shaw, Jon Woeppel, and Thomas Brennan.
Fairways Golf Course finished in 2nd place last year at Indian Oaks Country Club in Shabbona. They were 2 points behind the champion, Timber Creek Golf Course in Dixon.
Timber Creek Golf Course has won the event 2 years in a row and 3 out of the last 5 years.
The format for the tournament is par golf. Each golfer wins a point, stays even, or loses a point for each hole. The team with the most points wins the tournament.
27 holes is played each day in the 54-hole format.
