Cubs beat the Reds 6-3

Miguel Montero launched a three-run homer to help guide the Cubs to a 6-3 win over the Reds at Wrigley Field. Dexter Fowler belted a solo shot while Kris Bryant doubled in a run and scored once for Chicago, which has won four of five. Travis Wood picked up the win in relief and Hector Rondon  closed it out for his 11th save. Michael Lorenzen gave up all six runs, five earned, in four-and-a-third innings to slip to 1-and-2. Lorenzen also had a pair of RBI and Chris Dominguez hit a solo home run as the Reds saw their four-game winning streak come to an end.

Game #2 of the series is this afternoon at Wrigley Field.
