Detroit beats the White Sox 6-4

J.D. Martinez homered and plated three as the Tigers turned back the White Sox, 6-4, in the rubber match of a three-game set in Chicago. Yoenis Cespedes also went deep and drove in two for Detroit, which has won two straight on the heels of an eight-game slide. Alfredo Simon struck out seven over eight strong innings to improve to 6-and-3. Joakim Soria secured his 16th save. Avisail Garcia belted a three-run homer and Adam Eaton tripled in a run for Chicago. Jeff Samardzija  allowed all six runs and 10 hits in seven-and-a-third to fall to 4-and-4.

The White Sox will be at home tonight against Houston. The Pre-Game Show begins at 6:35 on Newstalk 1060.
