Gordon Beckham tied the game late with a homer, and Geovany Soto put the White Sox ahead for good in a 6-3, 11-inning win over the Astros at Minute Maid Park. Beckham's solo shot made the game 3-3 in the eighth inning, and Soto's two-run double gave Chicago the lead in the 11th. Adam LaRoche plated an insurance run for Chicago, which has won three of four. Dan Jennings got the relief win, and David Robertson earned his 10th save. Chris Carter plated two runs for Houston, which has dropped three-of-four. Josh Fields took the loss in relief.

Lorenzo Cain doubled in the go-ahead run to ignite a three-run eighth inning and the Royals went on to beat the Cubs 8-4 at Wrigley Field. An error by center fielder Dexter Fowler allowed two more runs to score as KC pulled away to snap a season-high four-game losing streak. Alcides Escobar, Alex Gordon and Salvador Perez all homered for the Royals, who blew a 4-1 lead before pulling out the win. Kelvin Herrera gave up a game-tying homer to Addison Russell in the seventh, but got credit for the win. Jorge Soler also homered for Chicago. Pedro Strop took the loss.
