Denard Span went deep to open the game for Washington, which has won eight of its last nine games. Tanner Roark tossed five innings of one-run ball for his first win. Drew Storen closed it out for his NL-leading 15th save. Kris Bryant homered in the first for the Cubs, who have dropped three-of-four. Justin Grimm suffered his first loss.
