Jake Arrieta pitched six innings and allowed three earned runs for the no-decision with Jason Motte picking up the win in relief. Pedro Strop threw a perfect ninth for the save as Chicago won for the third time in four games. David Peralta drove in three runs and Yasmany Tomas finished with two RBI in the loss. Tuffy Gosewisch hit a solo shot for Arizona, which sees its five-game winning streak end. Enrique Burgos took the loss in relief.

Trevor May outdueled Chris Sale as the Twins trimmed the White Sox, 4-3, in Chicago. May struck out nine over seven innings of three-run ball to even his record at 3-and-3. Glen Perkins earned his 16th save. Torii Hunter and Eduardo Nunez hit solo homers to help Minnesota bounce back from losing the opener of the three-game set. Adam Eaton tripled in a run and scored another for the Sox, who have dropped four-of-five. Sale fanned 10, but allowed all four runs, three earned, in eight frames to fall to 3-and-2.

The White Sox retired Paul Konerko's number-14 yesterday during a ceremony prior to the game with the Twins.
He'll became the 11th player in franchise history to have his number retired. Konerko spent 16 seasons with the Sox, hitting .281 with 432 home runs and 1,383 RBI over 2,268 games.
