Cubs win 4th game in a row

A passed ball by Anthony Recker allowed the go-ahead run to score in the seventh inning and the Cubs held on for a 6-5 win over the Mets at Wrigley Field. Rookie Kris Bryant's RBI single capped a four-run fifth inning that tied the game at five for Chicago. Dexter Fowler went 2-for-3 with a home run for the Cubs, who overcame a 5-1 deficit to sweep the four-game series. Pedro Strop  got the win and Hector Rondon  his eighth save. Jon Niese allowed all six runs in six-and-a-third frames to drop to 3-and-3. Recker homered twice and Wilmer Flores also went deep for New York.

The Cubs are at home today against Pittsburgh.

The White Sox open up a three-game series with the Athletics tonight in Oakland.  Chicago is 2-and-1 so far on the current six-game road trip after a pair of wins in Milwaukee.  Carlos Rodon will make his second start for the Sox.  He is 1-and-0 with a 2.92 ERA in four games overall.  The A's will counter with right-hander Jesse Hahn, who is 1-and-3 with a 4.73 ERA.

Tonight's Pre-Game Show begins at 8:30 on Newstalk 1060.
