The Chicago Blackhawks will play Anaheim in the Western Conference Finals.


The Ducks eliminated Calgary last night 3-2 in overtime. They win the series 4-1.

When the Western Conference Finals will begin has yet to be announced by NHL officials. This is the 3rd straight season the Blackhawks have played for a Conference Championship.

 

Gordon Beckham's RBI single off Aroldis Chapman with two outs in the bottom of the ninth gave the White Sox a 4-3 win over the Reds in Chicago. Emilio Bonafacio plated a pair for the White Sox in the rubber match of a three-game set. David Robertson got the win despite blowing a save in the ninth. Devin Mesoraco hit an RBI triple, and Zach Cozart had a two-run double in the top of the ninth for Cincy. Chapman took the loss.

The White Sox will be in Milwaukee tonight against the Brewers. The Pre-Game Show begins at 5:45pm on Newstalk 1060.

 

Martin Maldonado's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th gave the Brewers a 3-2 win over the Cubs in Milwaukee.  Maldonado and Elian Herrera smacked solo homers for the Crew in the rubber match of the three-game set.  Matt Garza struck out nine over seven innings of one-run ball in a no-decision.  Michael Blazek was credited with the win.  Miguel Montero homered and Anthony Rizzo doubled in the tying run in the eighth for the Cubs.  Kyle Hendricks fired five-and-a-third shutout innings, while Jason Motte was charged with the loss.

The Cubs are now (15-15) for the season. They play at home tonight against the New York Mets.
