Friday night's game between the
Chicago White Sox and Cincinnati Reds has been postponed due to
rain.
The game will be made up today as part of a straight
doubleheader, with the first contest beginning at 3:10 p.m.. The
second game will commence 30 minutes after the conclusion of the
opener.
Both games can be heard on Newstalk 1060 with the Pre-Game Show at 2:35.
The Cubs blasted four home runs en route to a 7-6 victory over the Brewers at Miller Park. Jorge Soler belted a two-run dinger and Anthony Rizzo had a solo homer and a pair of RBI. Dexter Flower and Starlin Castro each also launched a solo shot for Chicago, which has won two of three. Jason Hammel struck out eight in seven innings of two-run ball to improve to 3-and-1. Down 7-3, Ryan Braun hit a three-run homer in the ninth inning to pull the Brewers within one to keep it interesting until the end. Khris Davis also went deep and finished with three RBI as Milwaukee lost for the third time in four games. Jimmy Nelson racked up 11 strikeouts, but gave up four runs in seven frames for the loss.
