White Sox and Cubs both rained out on Saturday

With rain in the forecast for
Saturday, the game between the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White
Sox was postponed. The inclement weather forced Friday night's
game to be suspended after eight innings with the scored tied 2-2.
The game was slated to resume  on Saturday before
the regularly scheduled game. Now the suspended game is scheduled
to be played today at 1:10 p.m., followed by the regularly
scheduled contest. A makeup date has not been set for Saturday's
scheduled game.

The Pre-Game Show begins at 12:35 on Newstalk 1060.

Major League Baseball has suspended six players involved in
Thursday's brawl between the Kansas City Royals and Chicago White
Sox. Kansas City starting pitcher Yordano Ventura received a
seven-game ban, starting pitcher Edinson Volquez was suspended five
games and reliever Kelvin Herrera and outfielder Lorenzo Cain each
received two-game suspensions. Chicago starting pitchers Chris Sale
and Jeff Samardzija were each suspended five games. All six were
also fined by for their actions, while White Sox catcher Tyler
Flowers also received an undisclosed fine for his role in the
fracas. Benches cleared at the end of the seventh inning after
Ventura snared a comebacker from Adam Eaton and yelled an expletive
at the White Sox outfielder. Once the teams gathered on the
infield, punches began to be thrown and a pileup ensued.

All of the players have appealed the suspensions to Major League Baseball.

Saturday's game between the
Chicago Cubs and Cincinnati Reds was postponed because of rain
following a delay of over four hours.

No makeup date has been announced.

Prior to the scheduled start, the Reds held a ceremony
to honor the 25th anniversary of their 1990 World Series champion
team.

The tarp was removed for a planned 3:35 p.m. start as the grounds
crew prepared the field, but the tarp was quickly put back in place.

Cincinnati's Anthony DeSclafini was scheduled to face off against
Chicago's Jake Arrieta. The series resumes this afternoon.
