Both the White Sox and Cubs win

Jose Abreu belted a grand slam as the White Sox trounced the Tigers, 12-3, in Detroit. Adam LaRoche also went deep and plated four runs for Chicago, which cranked out 17 hits to hand Detroit its second loss of the season. Chris Sale fanned six over six innings of two-run ball to improve to 2-and-0. J.D. Martinez launched a solo homer for the Tigers. Anibal Sanchez was lit up for nine runs and nine hits over three-and-a-third innings to fall to 1-and-2.

Final game of the series is this afternoon with the Pre-Game Show at 11:30 on Newstalk 1060.

Starlin Castro's RBI single in the bottom of the 11th gave the Cubs a 7-6 win over the Padres at Wrigley Field.  Miguel Montero homered twice and plated three for the Cubs.  A day after his MLB debut, Kris Bryant went 2-for-3 with three walks and an RBI in the win.  Zac Rosscup tossed two scoreless innings for the win.  Matt Kemp hit a two-run homer in the first for San Diego, which scored four in the ninth to force extras.  Craig Kimbrel was charged with his first loss.
