Alex Rios went 3-for-4 with a three-run homer to help power the Royals to a 10-1 win over the White Sox on Opening Day at Kauffman Stadium. Mike Moustakas also homered and Alex Gordon had a two-run single for KC. Yordano Ventura allowed just four hits and one run in six-plus innings for the win. He left in the top of the seventh with a minor hand injury. Jose Abreu slugged a solo homer for Chicago's only run in the seventh. Jeff Samardzija took the loss for the Sox. The Royals received their American League championship rings in a pre-game ceremony.
