Jake Allen stopped 38 of the 39 shots he faced to lead the Blues to a 2-1 win over the Blackhawks at the United Center. David Backes and Olli Jokinen scored in the second period for the Blues, who are now a point ahead of Nashville for first in the Central. Kris Versteeg had the only goal of the night in the first period for Chicago, which is three points behind St. Louis for the division crown. Corey Crawford made 31 saves in defeat.
The Blackhawks are home Tuesday vs Minnesota.
