The IHSA board announced this past weekend that the boys and girls state basketball tournaments will remain in Peoria and Normal for the next 5 years.

Bids had come in from Champaign and Hoffman Estates for the boys state basketball tournament. It's been held at the Peoria Civic Center for the past 20 years.

The girls state basketball tournament had taken place at Redbird Arena in Normal since 1992. The other bid for the event came from Bradley University in Peoria.
