Creston Community Consolidated School District #161 has announced
a new partnership with the Northern Illinois University (NIU) College of Education to
provide ongoing support and professional training for teachers and staff related to
instructional technology and assessments.
“The end goal in establishing this relationship is to give our teachers and staff all the
tools that they need to continue to provide a top-notch education for our students,” said
Bill Robertson, District Superintendent. “We are working diligently as a school district to
provide the highest level of professional development available.”
Workshops for teachers and professional staff will relate specifically to technology
utilized by the students of the District, along with training to assist with student
assessments.
The utilization of valid and reliable assessments will help to determine
where additional academic support is needed to increase student achievement.
“We are excited to partner, and share our expertise with Creston Community
Consolidated School District,” said Dr. La Vonne Neal, Dean of the College of Education
at NIU. “We are looking forward to developing this relationship for the advancement of
their students.”
