Jonathan Toews also scored in the second for Chicago, which snapped a two-game slide. Scott Darling stopped 32 shots in his first NHL action. Milan Michalek scored for Ottawa, which has lost two straight. Craig Anderson halted 43 shots in the setback.
The Blackhawks are back at the United Center on Tuesday against Anaheim.
