The White Sox are on the road facing the Rays tonight in St. Pete. The Sox will go with Jose Quintana while the Rays send Jeremy Hellickson to the hill. Chicago has lost three of four to slip to 69-and-83.
The Dodgers scored seven runs in the final three innings to top the Cubs 8-4 at Wrigley Field. Eight different Dodgers drove in a run as Yasiel Puig led the way with three hits. Hanley Ramirez and Juan Uribe collected two hits each and starter Zack Greinke allowed four runs in five innings for the no-decision. Paco Rodriguez grabbed the win in relief as LA leads the NL West by two-and-a-half games. Jorge Soler drove in two runs for the Cubs while Mike Olt added an RBI. Neil Ramirez took the loss out of the pen after allowing five runs, four of them unearned. The Cubs saw a three-game winning streak end.
The Cubs are now affiliated with the South Bend Silver Hawks of the Midwest League. Chicago was previously with the Kane County Cougars but met with the Silver Hawks in South Bend on Wednesday and announced the new PDC on Thursday. The deal with the Class-A team runs through 2018. The Cubs also joined with the Eugene Emeralds of the Northwest League in the Class-A Short Season.
