Conor Gillaspie smacked a go-ahead three-run triple in the seventh inning to lift the White Sox past the Royals 7-5 at Kauffman Stadium. Alexei Ramirez drove in a run and scored, while Adam Eaton went 4-for-5 and scored twice for Chicago, which snapped a brief two-game skid. Eric Surkamp picked up the win and Zach Putnam earned his fifth save. Alex Gordon had a two-run single and a run scored and Norichika Aoki had four hits, an RBI and scored for the Royals, who remain a game-and-a-half behind the AL Central-leading Detroit Tigers and are now just one game up on Seattle for the second Wild Card spot. Kelvin Herrera suffered the loss.
