Cubs beat the Reds for the 2nd straight night

Jake Arrieta took a no-hitter into the eighth inning and fired a complete game one-hit shutout as the Cubs blanked the Reds 7-0 at Wrigley Field. Arrieta racked up 13 strikeouts and walked one for his ninth win. Jorge Soler hit a home run and drove in two while Chris Coghlan  finished with three RBI. The Cubs have won three of their last four. Johnny Cueto  walked five and allowed six earned runs in five-and-two-thirds innings for the loss. Cueto struck out eight with his record falling to 18-and-9. Brandon Phillips recorded the lone hit in for the Reds and Billy Hamilton walked. The Reds' elimination number is two.
