Jorge Soler launched two home runs in just his third Major League game as the Cubs beat the Cardinals 7-2 at Busch Stadium. Soler went 3-for-3 and drove in three runs while Javier Baez added two RBI. Luis Valbuena and Arismendy Alcantara each hit a solo shot for the Cubs to end a short two game skid. Neil Ramirez earned the win in relief. Pat Neshek was charged with four runs in two-thirds of an inning for his first loss of the season as the Cardinals dropped their third straight. Jhonny Peralta and Matt Holliday each drove in a run in the loss.
