Cubs win rain delayed game

After over four-and-a-half hours of a rain delay, the Cubs came away with a controversial 2-0 win over the Giants from Wrigley Field. Rain lasted for just around 15 minutes, but the grounds crew had problems getting the tarp on the field, creating messy conditions. Rather than suspend the game, rules dictate that it is a final instead. Tsuyoshi Wada  improved to 3-and-1 by tossing all five innings and scattering six hits for Chicago. Anthony Rizzo poked a two-run homer as the Cubs won their third straight. Ryan Vogelsong was saddled with the loss for San Francisco after allowing two runs in four frames. He fell to 7-and-9 as the Giants lost their seventh in ten games.

Game 2 of the series is tonight at Wrigley Field.
