Mike Pullin of Rochelle may have made the catch of the year this week while attending a Cubs' game at Wrigley Field.
Monday night, the 65-year old Pullin was sitting on the top row of the left field bleachers when Mark Reynolds of the Milwaukee Brewers hit a home run.
Pullin made a lunging catch in which he almost fell off the back of the bleachers. The play was seen on Chicago TV Stations along with national sports shows.
As tradition, Cubs fans throw back opponents home runs onto the field. Pullin, who is a member of the Illinois Bowlers Association Hall of Fame and the Rochelle and Rockford Hall of Fames, kept the home run ball from Reynolds and threw an old ball back onto the field. He told WRHL Sports that he always brings an old ball to the game. The one thrown onto the field belonged to his dog which was chewed up.
Mike's wife was next to him when he made the outstanding catch Monday night.
