The high school football season begins today for programs in Illinois.
Many teams have been involved in camps throughout the summer. Today is the 1st official day teams can get on the field and practise for the 2014 season. It is 2 days earliier than in past years.
The Rochelle Hubs begin their season on Saturday, August 30th at Gately Stadium against Chicago Corliss. All RTHS football games home and away can be heard on Newstalk 1060 and wrhl.net this season.
The Hubs Football Preview Show can also be heard at 11am on Saturday, August 23rd. Hall of Fame Head Football Coach Kevin Crandall will be on the hour show as he begins his 21st season on the sidelines for the Hubs.
WRHL Sports begins their high school football coverage on Friday night, August 29th with a doubleheader.
Johnsburg High School plays at Oregon High School with the Pre-Game Show at 7pm on Newstalk 1060 and wrhl.net.
The Stillman Valley Cardinals also open up the season at home against Chicago Phillips High School. The Pre-Game Show starts at 7pm on "The Coyote" and 1023thecoyote.com.
Practise begins for the remainder of the Fall sports programs this Wednesday at schools in Illinois.
