Hector Noesi had his second straight strong start helping the White Sox defeat the Twins, 5-2, in the opener of a four-game series at Target Field. Noesi made it through seven-and-two-thirds innings and allowed two runs to improve to 5-and-7. Adam Eaton compiled three hits and two RBI for Chicago, which had lost three of its previous four. Minnesota's two runs came from a home run by Danny Santana in the eighth inning. It was one of only three hits for the Twins, who have dropped five of seven. Phil Hughes took the loss. He left in the fourth inning after taking a ball of his right ankle. X-rays revealed no broken bones.
Game #2 of the series is tonight with the Pre-Game Show at 6:35 on Newstalk 1060.
