It took 14-innings to decide a winner, but Brad Miller's RBI double pushed the Mariners past the White Sox 3-2 at U.S. Cellular Field. Michael Saunders and Mike Zunino chipped in a RBI each in the win for Seattle, which has won five of six. Felix Hernandez took an eight inning no-decision after giving up two runs. Tom Wilhelmsen grabbed the win in relief while Fernando Rodney grabbed his 25th save. The White Sox mustered only four hits in the loss with Dayan Viciedo and Tyler Flowers plating a run each. Jose Quintana struck out 10 over seven-and-two-thirds innings of shutout ball for the no-decision. Ronald Belisario took the loss in relief for Chicago, which has dropped three of its last five.
Seattle scored 2 runs in the top of the 9th inning to tie the game.
The rubber game of the 3-game series is this afternoon with the Pre-Game Show at 12:35 on Newstalk 1060.
