Former Rochelle "Hub" Jerrod "JR" Reynolds has been named the new Head Baseball Coach at RTHS.
He replaces Nick Reineck who held the position for the past 4 years. Reineck had a reocrd of (32-93-1)
which included 2 Regional Championships. He was hired this past spring as the new Dean of Students at Sycamore High School.
Reynolds was an assistant coach in the RTHS baseball program in 2008 and between 2010-2013. He graduated from Rochelle in 2003 and played 2 seasons at Kishwaukee Community College in Malta before getting his degree at NIU in DeKalb.
Reynolds was also hired as a teacher in the Social Studies Department at RTHS and is coaching this summer the 14 years of age and under for the Rampage Baseball program.
The RTHS board also accepted the resignation last night of Girls Head Softball Coach Adrian Smith. He held the position for the past 6 seasons with a record of (48-118).
Smith has been in the RTHS girls softball program for the past 12 seasons. He resigned due to personal reasons. He will remain an assistant football coach and teacher at RTHS.
Assistant Coach Denver Davis will run the summer program for the girls until a new head coach is named next month by the RTHS board.
Andy DeWitt was also named last night as a volunteer coach in the girls basketball program and Charles Watson as a volunteer in Club Wrestling.
