Rene Rivera and Alexi Amarista plated a run each for the Padres, who have won three out of four. Andre Rienzo was chased after three-and-a-third innings to fall to 4-and-2 with Dayan Viciedo recording the only RBI in the loss. The White Sox have dropped two in-a-row.

Jason Hammel improved to 6-and-3 with seven innings of shutout ball and striking out eight. Darwin Barney and Chris Coghlan added a RBI each for the Cubs, who snap a three-game skid. Wily Peralta was rocked for six runs in five-and-two-thirds to fall to 4-and-5. The Brewers were held to four hits with Scooter Gennett grabbing two. The Brewers' win streak ends at three.
