Chicago Baseball

Ian Kennedy pitched six innings of one-run ball while striking out nine as the Padres dropped the White Sox 4-1 at U.S. Cellular Field. Kennedy improved to 4-and-6 while Huston Street logged his 16th save. Cameron Maybin hit a solo homer while Yonder Alonso added a two-run shot as San Diego won its third in five games. John Danks gave up two runs in seven innings but fell to 3-and-5 for Chicago. Conor Gillaspie had two of the four hits for the White Sox, who saw a three-game win streak end.

Ryan Braun hit a two-run homer to charge the Brewers in an 11-5 win over the Cubs at Miller Park.  Braun finished 3-for-5 with three RBI while Rickie Weeks went 3-for-4 with two RBI and three runs.  Jean Segura also had three hits and scored twice as Milwaukee won its third straight.  Marco Estrada pitched six innings of three-run ball to improve to 5-and-2.  Travis Wood was tagged for seven runs over two-and-two-thirds innings for Chicago, falling to 5-and-5.  Nate Schierholtz went deep for the Cubs, who have lost three in-a-row and five of their last seven.
