Starting pitcher Michael Wacha's two-run single highlighted a four-run second inning and the Cardinals held on for a 5-3 win over the Cubs at Busch Stadium. Matt Carpenter had an RBI double and Yadier Molina singled in a run for St. Louis, which took two-of-three in the rain-shortened series. Wacha pitched seven innings of two-run ball to even his record at 3-and-3. Trevor Rosenthal got the final five outs for his 11th save. Jason Hammel gave up all five runs in five-and-a-third frames to fall to 4-and-2 with the loss. Starlin Castro hit his sixth home run for Chicago.
The Cubs will be at home today against Milwaukee.
