Justin Masterson pitched into the eighth for his first win of the year as the Indians downed the White Sox 2-0 at Progressive Field. Masterson improved to 1-and-1 by throwing seven-and-a-third innings of four-hit ball with six strikeouts and one walk. Cleveland scored on an error in the second and Nick Swisher lifted a sac-fly in the fifth as the Tribe won its second straight since a six-game slide. John Axford closed it out for his ninth save. Scott Carroll pitched six innings and allowed two unearned runs to fall to 1-and-1 for Chicago. Adam Dunn managed two hits for the Sox, who have lost four straight.
