David Ross doubled in the go-ahead run in the top of the ninth inning as the Red Sox edged the White Sox 3-1 in the rubber match of a three-game series at U.S. Cellular Field. Jonathan Herrera also plated a run on a bunt single in the ninth, while Xander Bogaerts homered in the sixth for Boston. Jon Lester struck out nine over eight innings of one-run ball as he evened his record at 2-and-2. Koji Uehara closed it out for his third save. Adam Eaton's infield single in the sixth drove in the lone run for the Pale Hose, who fell to 8-and-8. Ronald Belisario suffered the loss.
