White Sox and Cubs both win

Conor Gillaspie went 2-for-3 with a walk and drove in four as the White Sox notched a 9-6 win over the Indians at U.S. Cellular Field. Adam Eaton and Adam Dunn each went 2-for-3 with an RBI while Chris Sale improved to 3-and-0 after allowing three runs over five innings. Chicago has won three of its last four. Carlos Carrasco gave up five runs across four-and-two-thirds innings to fall to 0-and-2 for Cleveland. Asdrubal Cabrera had a two-run double in defeat for the Indians, who have lost three straight.

Welington Castillo blasted a three-run homer in the top of the 11th as the Cubs went on to a 6-3 win over the Cardinals at Busch Stadium.  Nate Schierholtz was 4-for-5 with an RBI while Ryan Sweeney went 2-for-4 and knocked one in for Chicago, which has won two of three.  Jeff Samardzija  tossed seven innings of one-run ball but the bullpen couldn't hold it.  Justin Grimm notched the win in relief while Hector Rondon got the save.  Matt Carpenter went 1-for-3 and tied the game in the ninth with a sac-fly for St. Louis.  Matt Adams and Yadier Molina each had two hits while Joe Kelly surrendered an unearned run over six innings in the start.  Trevor Rosenthal suffered the loss after giving up Castillo's blast in his second inning of work as the Cards lost their second straight.
