Both the White Sox and Cubs win on Sunday

Alexei Ramirez drove in two runs to back eight shutout innings from Chris Sale as the White Sox beat the Royals 5-1 at Kauffman Stadium. Sale struck out six while allowing just four hits and a walk to move to 2-and-0. Tyler Flowers' two-run single capped a four-run ninth inning to break the game open after Chicago took a 1-0 lead in the seventh. The White Sox salvaged the finale of the three-game set to even their record at 3-and-3. Alex Gordon singled in a run in the bottom of the ninth for Kansas City, which fell to 2-and-3. James Shields gave up one run in seven frames to take the loss.

The White Sox will be at Colorado tonight.

Ryan Kalish went 2-for-3 with a triple and three RBI as the Cubs beat the Phillies 8-3 at Wrigley Field.  Anthony Rizzo had two hits and drove in a run for Chicago, which scored four times in both the first and sixth innings to salvage the finale of the three-game series.  Carlos Villanueva pitched five innings of one-run ball for his first win of the season.  A.J. Burnett was burned for all eight runs, but just four earned, in five-and-two-thirds frames to take the loss.  Jimmy Rollins had two hits and an RBI and Chase Utley plated a run for Philadelphia.  The Phils are 3-and-3, while the Cubs are 2-and-4.
