The Illinois State Police Blackhawk Area Task force has arrested 2 area residents following a marijuana production and distribution investigation that included a home in Mt. Morris.
46-year old Vincent Fiore of LaSalle and 39-year old Myles Olsen of Bartlett have been charged with the Class X felony offense of unlawful possession with the intent to deliver more than 5,000 grams of marijuana along with unlawful production of cannabis sativa plants.
Police executed search warrants in homes at Lasalle and Bartlett along with 5880 West Lowell Park Road in Mt. Morris which was owned by Fiore.
Authorities seized 156 cannabis sativa plants along with 45 pounds of processed marijuana and items utilized in the production and distribution of the drug.
$24,000 in cash was also found along with $190,000 in additional assets.
Additional arrests are pending as the investigation continues.The Ogle County State's attorney's office was involved in the case.
