Ogle County officials are moving forward with the possible construction of a new sheriff administration building. The estimated cost of the building is around 4.3 million dollars as it would be located near the current facility in Oregon. The current sheriff administration building would then be demolished in the future.
The board heard an update report last night from Long Range Planning Chairman Don Griffin of Oregon. The facility will include offices for the sheriff's department along with the coroner.
He hopes that the board will make a final decision on the project by the end of the year.
County officials amended the fee schedule for the Planning and Zoning Department. The figures involved the special flood hazard area. The state fee from the Department of Natural Resources would be $500.
The per diem policy for county employees was also approved. Janet Stahlheber from Rochelle was
re-appointed to the Ogle County Housing Authority.
The Ogle County Board will meet in special session of October 28th at 5:30 for a budget hearing involving the next fiscal year.
