Quinn wants pension reform proposal soon

A special pension committee has been working for about four months trying to strike a deal on pension reform, but they still haven’t found a fix. Governor Quinn wants them to produce a bill and take a vote before they complete veto session on November 7th, but at this point it doesn’t look like that’s going to happen. And, he’s still holding on to the notion that lawmakers shouldn’t be paid until they get the job done. Quinn says the most important way to help the state’s economy and build jobs is by passing a comprehensive pension plan that eliminates the state’s 100-billion-dollar liability.
