Witnesses say the final act of a condemned killer in Florida of an Ogle County woman was to confess his crime moments before he was given a lethal injection. William Happ said his admission to the 1986 murder of Angela Crowley of Oregon was for the sake of the young woman's family. Happ kidnapped, raped, and strangled the 21-year-old Crowley and dumped her body in a canal in Citrus County. Crowley moved to Lauderdale Lakes months before she was murdered. The 51-year-old Happ was the first person to be executed using a new cocktail of lethal-injection chemicals.
