A Rochelle man suffered a head injury yesterday morning after being struck by a car while riding his bike.
The accident took place on Route 38, just west of Lincoln Highway, a short time after 6:30.
69-year old Ray Mifflin of Rochelle was crossing the highway on his bike when struck by the east bound sports utility vehicle. The driver of the car told police he did not see Mifflin until it was too late.
There was no light on the bike.
Mifflin was transported by ambulance to Rochelle Community Hospital for treatment of his injuries. No tickets were issued by police.
