The discussion is in the early stages, but the City of Rochelle along with Gredco and 5 other groups are looking at putting together a marketing alliance to bring more people to the community.
Figures show that more than 70 percent of individuals who work in Rochelle do not live in the Hub City.
The Greater Rochelle Marketing Alliance would include the city and Gredco along with Rochelle Community Hospital, both schools districts, Flagg-Rochelle Community Park District, and the Rochelle Chamber of Commerce and Business Development.
The concept is a 5-year commitment as the yearly budget would be $100,000. The majority of the budget would come from the city and Gredco.
There would also be a board for the alliance with representation from all of the 7 groups.
No final decisions have been made by any of the 7 groups at this time. A final decision is expected within the next 45 days if this marketing alliance is formed.
