Extra security will be in place for the Chicago Marathon. Officials say the runners must pick their credentials up in person and all of their personal belongings will need to be in a clear, plastic bag. All spectators attending the Sunday event will have their bags screened at a checkpoint as they enter Grant Park. Bomb-sniffing dogs and extra police officers will man the race route. Officials say they kept the Boston Marathon bombing in mind as they prepared for the race.
45,00 runners will participate in the race on Sunday.
