A business at the Rochelle Municipal Airport has requested a variance for a wall signage on their hangar.
The Planning and Zoning Commission recommended to city officials last night that the 450 square foot vinyl sign be approved for Rochelle Avionics.
The company currently has 4 employees and works on planes. The sign will be located on the north side of the hangar and not visible from the highway. It exceeds the city ordinance by 230 square feet.
Rochelle Avionics has been at the Rochelle airport for the past 4 years.
The commission also talked about the problems for semi-trucks making turns at the north end of the overpass. They want city officials to talk with I-DOT about the problem on Illinois 251.
Jimmy Johns is expected to open today at the Caron Ridge Shopping Center. A representative from Dunkin'
